Hindi on computers comes in two kinds. Unicode (shown in fonts like Mangal, Nirmala UI or Noto Sans Devanagari) stores real Devanagari letters, so it works on every phone, website and email. Kruti Dev 010 is an older typewriter-style font that stores Hindi as English keyboard characters — भारत is saved as Hkkjr and only looks like Hindi when the Kruti Dev font is installed.
A Hindi font converter maps one to the other. Going from Kruti Dev to Unicode, it rebuilds each syllable — moving the ि matra after its letter, placing reph (र्) correctly and joining half letters into conjuncts like क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ. Going the other way, it does the reverse so the text types out correctly in Kruti Dev. Whole Word (.docx) files can be converted too, with tables and formatting kept.

Unicode is the standard way computers store Hindi letters, so Unicode text reads correctly on every phone and computer. Kruti Dev 010 is an older font that stores Hindi as English keyboard characters; without the font installed it shows as text like “Hkkjr”.

Yes. Mangal is a Unicode font that comes with Windows, so “Mangal text” and “Unicode Hindi” mean the same thing. Nirmala UI is the newer Windows Unicode font.
